What is it really like to try to mom vlog? It takes a mama way out of her comfort zone!
While talking to my adult daughter about my new blogging adventure, she suggested that I really need to vlog. Surprisingly, I did know that she meant video blog.
“No way!” I said. “I hate seeing myself on video“.

Maybe I should try to vlog!
The more I thought about it, the more I knew she was probably right. In order to be successful I really need to make videos as well. Am I really even considering this? I grew up in a home where my mother absolutely hated to have her pictures taken. On the rare occasion that she did get in a photo, she did not even know how to look at the camera.
With that background in my head, making videos creates a big challenge. As a mother who feared leaving my children behind, I always wanted my kids to have at least some pictures as memories. So I made sure there were at least a few pictures with me in them.
I look so goofy in videos
Well, I really do think I look goofy in videos, but maybe I can do this video blogging thing. The idea came to me that I could do reviews on home school materials and maybe even work my way into sponsors from curriculum companies.
As this idea is forming in my head, my daughter, who is way more techy than me, told me I should do some videos and try to get comfortable in front of the camera.
What follows is my humorous attempt to feel “comfortable” in front of the camera.
